Estimated Taxes

Many factors can change between the time you place an order and the time your order is shipped. Therefore, the amount appearing on your order as "Estimated Tax" may differ from the sales taxes ultimately charged.


Sales Tax Information

The amount of tax charged for your order depends upon many factors, including:
  • the identity and location of the seller,
  • the location of the approval,
  • the type of item purchased and
  • the destination of the shipment.

How Sales Tax is Calculated

If an item is subject to sales or use tax in the state to which it is shipped, tax is generally calculated on its total selling price. In accordance with state tax laws, the total selling price of an item generally includes item-level shipping and handling charges, discounts and gift-wrap charges, and an allocation of order-level shipping and handling charges and discounts.
The tax rate applied to your order will generally be the combined state and local rate for the address where your order is approved or shipped. Therefore, the tax rate applied to your order may be different for an order shipped to your home address than it is for an order for the very same items shipped to your work address.


For Orders that are Shipped to Countries Outside of the United States

Tariffs and Taxes Unpaid: The recipient is responsible for all tariffs, taxes, and customs fees at time of delivery. We do not charge any tariffs, taxes, or customs fees at the time of the order, or include them in the item's price. Please contact your local customs office for an estimate of these fees.

More Tariffs and Taxes: The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs-clearance procedures are required, they can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.
